    Call for proposals

There are 73 days until the Scottish Ruby Conference opens, and less than a
week left for you to submit your session proposals: the CFP closes on Monday
18 January so, if you haven't already, it is time to register at
http://scottishrubyconference.com>and
make your submission. This year we are simply asking for sessions on
anything that would be of interest to Rubyists.

Registration

Soon afterwards we will be opening for registration: on Tuesday 19 January
we will be releasing a (limited) number of Early Bird tickets at £165. Keep
an eye on the Twitter
stream<http://scottishrubyconference.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=36987aa942df9ed168b515415&id=ff01d92b98&e=748a21b60e>for
the exact time. (If you buy a ticket and are subsequently chosen to
speak, then we will refund your ticket.)

Other News
Over the last two conferences we have raised £10,000 for the Children's
Hospice Association
Scotland<http://scottishrubyconference.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=36987aa942df9ed168b515415&id=e514e5154c&e=748a21b60e>.
We will be supporting CHAS again with the charity tutorial, and also a 5K
run which will take place on the Friday evening. Running is an excellent
form of exercise, and even if you do not run now 5 kilometres is easily
achievable by the conference time, if you start training in the next couple
of weeks. Many people who ran the RubyConf
5k<http://scottishrubyconference.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=36987aa942df9ed168b515415&id=ef2c72da4a&e=748a21b60e>used
